Conception of ‘turn-key building’ of transformer substations was developed by the specialists of JSC High-Voltage Union as an effective instrument of energy supply tasks decision during investment projects realization in all branches of industry and communal sector.

The enterprises of the holding, Rivne Plant of High-Voltage Equipment and  Nyzhneturynsky Electrohardware Plant were of the first in industry having passed from delivery of separate apparatuses to the complex decisions in energy objects equipping. At such approach Customer gets the ready-to-use decision «from the same hands», and the specialists of High-Voltage Union carry out co-ordination of work of all subcontractors and provide permanent strict control on all stages of works – from the concordance of project to starting-ups and adjustment.

The prominent example of effective realization of ‘turn-key’ project was building of complete transformer substation 110/20 kV in a province Herat in Afghanistan in 2004.

During developing the project the specialists of Rivne Plant of High-Voltage Equipment (the plant had won the contract of the project) faced considerable amount of non-standard problems. Engineers from Rivne accompanied a project from the stage of planning, choice of ground under building and developments of optimum route of supplying with an equipment before start of substation.

For delivery of power transformers to the building site it was necessary to build a new 500-meter road.. A ground was actually cut down in a stony slope with the overfall of heights more than 10 meters. In the conditions of deficit of skilled local personnel, difficulties with delivery of equipment and instruments, in the conditions of political instability substation was built and placed in operation in the shortest terms.

Building the substation in Herat allowed to supply with electricity more two millions of habitants and provided new horizons in the industrial development of the city.
